Southern Stone stock a range of Maltese limestone blocks and scants in different sizes. Our limestone is perfect for both carving and masonry, the limestone is quite soft and therefore great for beginners, but is also ideal for those more experienced. The stone is a very clean stone and a good finish can be achieved. Some of the our masons and stone carvers work the stone whilst wet as it helps to keep a cleaner edge. To achieve the best finish the stone can be sanded down with a number of sand paper grits starting from 80 all the way up to 4500 and finishing with a fleece brings the stone to a polished finish.
