Full-Nylon mallets are available as follows:
3.5" - Yellow and green
4.5" - Yellow and red
5" - red and blue
6" - blue only
These mallets can also be used for metal working.
These are made from 100% nylon and are 9" in length overall, with a 5" long handle.
The approximate weight of the mallets are as follows:
3.5" = 650g
4.5" = 960g
5" = 1.2kg
6" = 1.6kg
Why use a nylon?
The shock absorption of a nylon mallet helps to extent the life of the chisels by slightly softening the blow, compared to a metal hammer, as well as reducing the vibrations travelling into the hand and arm of the carver.
